Ice Fishing Bait

In a survival situation, tying fishing line to a stick, baiting the hook, and placing the stick across the Ice-hole, is easy to do. Also it is easy to set several of them up as well. Here are the rules of thumb that I use for ice fishing bait…
A) Use minnows to catch the larger fish like bass, pike, and walleye minnows. The size of the minnow will attract different fish. Small minnows are almost guaranteed to attract something edible.
B) Catch crappie, perch, rock bass and bluegill by using grubs and small worms as bait. Kind of tough to find in the winter, especially in a survival situation.
C) Meat baits include parts of previously caught fish, raw beef, or raw any type of animal. This is probably the best bet for having survival bait.
If you have a favorite bait, share it here in the comments!
