OH DEER!

Here is a little tid-bit of information that I want to share. If you are lucky enough, post SHTF, to get a deer, do you know how to make the most of the meat. I have included a diagram on the different areas for processing. You don’t want to waste anything. 3 good sized deer will give my family of 5 enough meat to last for the year (being moderate of course, and not eating it every day). The hide can be tanned and used for various items. The bones can be used to make fish hooks. The fat (not a lot on a deer, but enough) can be used to make soap. Sinew for twine. Think smart, don’t waste anything. After all, this beautiful creature gave up his life for you and yours to be extended. Happy hunting!
