Iodized versus Non-Iodized Salt - Know the difference.

W.O.W. (Words Of Wisdom)

Preppers. Please keep in mind when Prepping that you need both types of salt in your preps.

Iodized salt is table salt mixed with a minute amount of various iodine-containing salts. The ingestion of iodide prevents iodine deficiency. Worldwide, iodine deficiency affects about two billion people and is the leading preventable cause of mental retardation. Deficiency also causes thyroid gland problems.

Non Iodized Salt is used in canning and in pickling of meat used to preserve your food for long periods. The iodine will discolor the meat. I want to know if the meat is bad, not just think it is discolored and kill off myself and the whole family.
